I am currently Acting Service Manager for Breakaway. I have worked in the disability field for over 30 years with 15 years in Management. I am enjoying my time getting to know all of our families.

My team call me the energizer bunny. I have been part of the Breakaway team for just over 11 years and have worked in a variety of roles. I have a strong belief in the vision and the values that are the foundations of Breakaway, but what I value most is how our vision and values are dynamic and designed to empower a positive pathway for our families and guests. I feel very fortunate in my role as I have been able to build strong and supportive relationships with our families. The future excites me and I am looking forward to being a part Breakaways future and growth.

Accommodation Facilitator

I have been working in the disability sector for 16 years and 11 of those wonderful years have been spent with Breakaway. I have worked within multiple roles within the service including hands-on support, accounts management and now I am currently the Accommodation Facilitator. I am very much a people focused person it is what inspires me. I love to chat and be social and help our families to plan. I am ecstatic to be a part of the Breakaway team and am looking forward to getting into some new and exciting ventures.

I have been called little miss sunshine…Working for Breakaway for the past 3 years has allowed me to use creativity through movement facilitating, put innovative ideas into action while fundraising and obtain new skills in marketing while practicing them. Nothing excites me more than putting a smile on someone’s face or seeing them bust a move. The most rewarding part of my job is knowing that everything I do goes back into our guests and their families and makes a difference!

I started working for Breakaway in 2015 as a direct support worker. Now I provide hands on support to our guest as well as working as the Your Life Your Choice and NDIS Facilitator. I also share receptionist and admin responsibilities. Helping our guests realize their potential is rewarding and gives me a sense of purpose. Breakaway have strong core values which resonate with my own values. Breakaway have been so supportive of me and I’m proud to be a part of the Breakaway family.

I have 20 years experience in the disability sector, with 14 of those years being spent at Breakaway Inc. I began in a support workers role in our Respite House and I have also worked in a variety of supports within our service, including In-Home and Community Access. I was excited to step up into a team leaders role in 2015 and especially love getting to connect with our families even more. The best thing about working with Breakaway is the family focus and how we pride ourselves on being a helping hand for the families.

Hi I’m Jodi. I am Team leader at two of our accommodation houses. I have been with Breakaway for approximately 14 years, I spent the first 10 years working mainly in the Respite House and on the day program. I have loved seeing how much Breakaway has grown and flourished over the years and I have enjoyed being part of our guests’ everyday lives. I especially love working in the Independent Living houses and am very passionate about making them into stable forever-homes and seeing our ladies and gentlemen live happy lives.

My journey with Breakaway started in 2015 when I came on board as a volunteer. I then became a permanent employee in 2016 and have loved being a part of the family. What I appreciate most about Breakaway is my work life balance, a friendly and fun atmosphere, definitely the interpersonal relationships and I am always learning something new!

In 2016, I was given the opportunity to use administrative/computer skills, developed during a 35 year business career, to assist Breakaway’s Service Manager on a contractual basis. During this time, I learned about Breakaway and met some amazing people. Consequently, I was delighted when offered the opportunity to learn new skills and become a permanent part time employee in 2017. Being part of a team whose members are passionate about supporting people with disability and their families has been a privilege and the experience has been both inspiring and rewarding. I look forward to making further contributions to the Breakaway organization as we embrace the changes and challenges of the NDIS world.
